The Marquess's Jewels

A great sensation has been caused by the announcement that the Marquess of Anglesey had been robbed of some thirty or forty thousand pounds' worth of jewellery, presumably by a valet in his employment, who simultaneously dis-{ appeared. The man was arrested at Dover last night, and was brought up this morning and remanded. None of the jewels however, up to the present been recovered. This is the noble Marquess's second appearance in a sensational case within the past few months. A few months ago the Marchioness, his cousin, to whom he was married three years ago, instituted a nullity. suit against him, and then, having obtained an order, took action to have it rescinded, and the marriage upheld. The proceedings were heard in camera, and although all sorts of rumours are afloat, the circumstances of the ease are to most people a mystery.
