Weihaiwei Gold Mining Co

The following report has been handed to us for publication To the Directors of the Weihaiwei Geld Mining Ca., Ld.

Dean Sins,—Having recently examined the developments on your properties at Weihaiwei, under the management of Mr. Dawson, I have the honour to report Sugar Loaf Hill, Is a flat or blanket ledge outcropping at several points. The ledge has been opened on the surface by a series of open cuts clearly tracing the vein for about 1,000 feet, the vein varies in thick from 4 to 6 feet.

The principal working is an open cut 90 fect. long, showing the vein from 4 to 5 feet thick for the entire distance; to this must be added a small stringer of quartz overlying the ledse from 6 to 12 inches thick. Should the rock the upper stringer and lower Jedgo carry pay, will greatly increase the thickness of the pay ore. All the ore th hias been mined so far has ey ance of being high grade amount of sulphurets, and 0 gold is seen in the ore. A short distance Below the ledge, Chinese are washing the gravel in the creek, and the gold th find is coarse.
