REPUBLICAN REVOLT AGAINST THE PRESIDENT

London vid Bombay, March 19.

The revolt that has long been simmering among a certain section of the Republi against President Taft has broken out. An all-night sitting of the House of Representatives has been held to discuss a motion, introduced by the insurgents and supported by the Democrats, which was aimed at the weakening and, ultimately, ousting of the all-powerful Speaker, Mr. J. G. Cannon.

The House sat for twenty-six hours and then adjourned. The regular Republicans admit defeat.—Reuter.
