The above picture shows the Sassoon building on the Bund, fan untouched wooden model on which work is fas it wil' be when it finally emerges from the workmen's hands. smaller facade shown will be the Bund frontage, where the main entrance to the offices will be, the arcade entrance will be on the Nanking Road frontage and on Jinkee Road. The picture shows clearly also, the eight storeys at the ba: ick of the building and the 12 in front, surmounted by a high tower the top of which is a large glass ball supported by four figu This glass ball, which will be in sections, will be hollow and it i intended to illuminate it at night.
The style of the building is romanesque but no details are of course shown on the model.
It will be faced with granite and the tower will by finished with copper.
From the pav ent to the top of the ball the height will be 240 feet, just 50 feet higher than the dome of the Hongkong & Shanghai Build'ng.
