The Finance Committee of the Municipal Council on March 22 unanlmously agreed to recommend to the Council that a." special rant $10,000 be made to the Shanghai American School for 1937, the schoo! authorities to be informed that such is to be made without prejudice to the question of policy involved by the {issue of a grant to a national school situated outside the Settlement; that the grant is issued pending a report fon the subject in general by the Special Education Committee" now sitting, and that the whole question will be considered next year in the light of the Counei's future polley in regard to foreign education, The Council on March 24 approved the recommendation of the Finance Committee.
