Within a stone's throw of Piccadilly Circus there is a gayly decorated little tavern where Herr Kempinski introduced us to his Fish Cocktails. These cocktails are of a brand which have long delighted Continental gourmets and, now, Londoners are discovering the delicious concoctions for themselves, They are served in a cup similar to a sundae glass and the ingredients consist of prawns, shrimps or crayfish; artichokes; tomatoe: lettuce; truffles: a little pimento; grapefruit juice; lemon juice; tomato ketchup and Worcester sauce.
The lettuce is shredded and mixed with finely sliced tomato, artichokes, truffles and a taste of pimento. The bottom of the cup is lined with the mixture and the freshly peeled fish piled to the brim. Lastly, a dressing is poured over the fish made of tomato ketchup, lemon juice, grapefruit juice and Worcester sauce in varying proportions to suit individual tastes "Well-known Flees Sportsman Fri m Death In Pajamas When Shooting Lodge Burns,"—"Arnprior Chronicle,"—Death in pajamas would make anyone ru" for his life.
