General Liws Address Speaking after General Ho, General Liu Hsiang, Chairman of the Szechuen

Provincial Government and Pacificaion Commissioner for Szechuen and Hsikang, said that despite poor health, he has come: o Chunking to attend the conference with a view to assuring the successful enforcement of the military readjustment measures.

Readjustment of military affairs in Szechuen and Hsikang, General Liu said, is a natural demand from the State—a demand which the military leaders of Szechuen and Hsikang have respectfully accepted. He hoped that the readjustment will be successfully effected.

After reorganization, General Liu continued, measures must be devised for the disposal of superfluous troops. If this problem is satisfactorily solved, there will be.no further obstacle to the enforcement of military readjustment.—Kuo Min.
