The Japanese air force again bombed the baor at the Matung forts, as well as the Chinese posi" tions west of Tsienshan, The Chfnese, however, assert that the bombardment caused only little damage, Reports received here from the Pinghan railway sector declare that Japanese units on the northern bank of the Yellow River are trying to force a passage across the river east of Chengchow. They are, however being watched closely. The Chinese, moreover, declare that the presence of a Japanese force of 5,000 has been established on the road from Fenyang to Chuantu, these troops having apparently been ordered to cross the Yellow River at some point near the boundary of Shansi and Shensi provinces. After crossing the river these troops evidently plan to march southwards west of the Yellow River towards Tungkuan.—Trans-Ocean.
