To meet the desire of Welsh people that the King and Queen should have a home in Wales similar to Balmoral a scheme was announced yesterday to provide a mansion from a gift fund to which all Welsh people could contribute.
The originator is a member of the Colwyn Bay Borough Council who wishes to remain anonymous. He will bring the proposal before the general purposes committee of the Council on Sept. 15.
His plan is that the Council should first call a conference of all local authorities in Wales for the initial purpose of ascertaining from the King whether he would accept such a gift
