Following the observance of the 60th birthday of Queen Wilhelmina by local members and officials of the Netherlands community, a telegram has been despatched to the Netherlands committee recently formed in London for transmission ito Her Majesty with telegrams received from other parts of the Netherlands empire on September 17.
The cables will convey felicitations to the Queen on the occasion of Prince's Day, which falls on that date every year and which in previous years is the memorable occasion when the Queen drives in state in her golden coach to open parliament at the Hague.
The royal procession to Knights' Hall at the old historic Hague centre each year on September 17 will long be remembered by all Dutchmen who are loyal to the House of Orange.
The loyalty of local subjects of Her Majesty was affirmed on the Queen's birthday when they attended the meeting at the American Women's Club wearing the orange ribbon and pledged unswerving devation to Queen Wilhelmina.
