King's Mansion For Club Short and Tall Stories:
Too Many Unions: Little Books go a Long Way By Cmazurs MARTIN
A London club may soon be able tó announce an interesting change of address. The new premises in the heart of fashionable London, were until recently the home of Royalty.
Ever since the abdication Londoners have speculated on the future of No. 145. Piccadilly, where the King, then Duke of York, lived until his accession. Estate dealers have mentally surveyed the property with a view to its conversion into modern luxury flats and have eagerly awaited news of No. 145, being placed on the market.
The King, however, has not yet decided what to do with his former residence, but if, as seems likely. His Majesty finds he has no further use for the Piccadilly mansion, then the more probable fate is its acquisition by one of the big clubs.
