Tf ever tribute wag deserved it is tribute to the Russian Army and Air Force, Ever since June they have faced the might of Germany's great war machine. They have been forced to give up a great deal of ground: they have lost large quantities of equipment as well as important industrial centres, but they never lost spirit.
They have destroyed their own towns rather than leave them intact for the enemy, they have kept their moral where' many others might have lost it. And now they are hitting back with all they have got. It has been a wonderful showing and excites admiration. For well over five months Hitler has had to spend in a truly prodigious way, and what has he got for it? He has not destroyed the Russians' power of resistance and now he is being forced to retreat from the line of advance he took to reach the Caucasian oil.
