Camlets 600, Spanish Stripes. 70 Crape Lustres.. 500, Handkerchiefs (chiefly re-sales) 1,500 dozens, Sales of other fabrics have taken place, but they are trifling and scarcely deserve a passing notice, Grey Shirtings.—Prices of 7 to 8{-b. goods are again lower, or rather transactions have been effected at a decline, but under existing quotations must be regarded as purely nominal. Tls. 1.97 has been refused for Dewhurat's best 8|-Ib. Bugle chop, and 'Hand and Branch buyers now offer only 'Tls. 1.98. A small lot of Red Pheasant has been placed at Tls. 1.83, and the Cash chop has been sold at' Tis, 1.74, whilst other and qualities are variously quoted by sales from Tis, 1.68 " 1.724 per piece, Dewhurst's Eagle 7-Ibs. have realised Tls. 1.65 per piece, but common chops are very dull of sale at a heavy decline on last mail's rates, Good 6-1b. cloth has been wanted at Tls. 1.344 1,35, butit is light in stock, and no business Las been reported. For 2,500 pieces of Dewhurst's beat heavy Shirtings Tls. 2.51 has been declined. Damages (mildew and oil-sized) are more abundant than is altogether desirable.
White Shirtings—The market is decidedly weaker, and prices have fallen. Good 56-reed cloth is now worth only Tis.
05 but in very limited request.
P-Cloths.—There is little or no change noticeable. Dewhurst's XX. M. T. 8-lbs. are still saleable in small lots, and command Tls. 1.70 per piece, and some rather better quality of same weight, but different Chop, have fetched Tls. 1.71 per piece to arrive.
Drills.—Mendel's Pillar 14 @ 14}-1bs.—Upwards of 6,000 pieces of these have changed hands at Tls. 2.102124 per piece, and a few 16-Ibs, Dragon Chop have found buyers at Tls. 2.10 per piece. These settlements are consequent on rather better news of the article from the North.
Sheotings.—About 2,500 pieces of English, 15-1bs.—(Bufalo Chop}—sum up the business of the week. Price Tis, 2.93 per piece.
Fancy Cottons and Woollens.—Nothing of interest to report. An enquiry for Veleets has been satisfied at 15h a 16 cents por yard. QI-lbs. Turkey Reds, 32-inch:, have been asked for by the Japabese traders, Lut there is apparently no stock of this weight. White Spots are also light in stock, and for this reason there have not been any sales. A parcel of Dyed Spots, bought sometime ago at 'Tls. 2.65 by a native, is again on the market, but buyers are not to be found for it. The sales of Camlete and Spanish Stripes noted above have been effected at the sellers' expense, and for all Woollens the tendency of prices is in favor of buyers. Fine Crape Lustres alone can be said to have held their own.
