the Editor ofthe Deas Siz,—I wan very glad to Teeriog to the movement in India to es.
yur paper of the 14th inst, an article retablish medical work among the women, Oortainly every intelligent person knows very heathen land, and in none perhaps more than in China, i sufferings of women are pect! and without any alleviation with the pre sent system of medical treatment. It is subject thal is now making special pans if only on the prinsiplo of more humanity and philanthropy; but surely those who are the servants, and especially the messengers to the heathen, of Him who "wont about doing good," and whose earthly mission was so largoly to heal the sick, and give relief to all the miserable ones that thronged about Him, should feel more practical sympathy for the sufferings of the body. Too long, and too largely, has the work for the souls of the been held separate from care for the poor diseased body, but I trust the time when this duty shall be more distinctly recognized.
There are those in this city who are ready to inaugurate such work for the women of China. Who is willing to help? Tf the same generous response' could be made here as the proposed plan hea ceived in India, it would soon be accomplished fact. I trust this sugges will call out other expr ions of interest on this subject.
