But he was cashiered for som offence not stated and sent to serve ata post station. A descrij of his person been forwarded to high authorities of the neighbouring provinces of Chibli and Shansi, and to the Lieutenant-General at Jeho, It is further requested that the Governor of Kuanysi may be instructed to institute a search for the missing man to the neighbourhood of his home in that province.

(2) The Governor of Shensi reports that in the early part of last summer there arrived in the province n officer named Ko Wei-un, who had been appointed in Peking to the post of Magistrate at Ho Haien in Shensi, As the newcomer was not scquainted with local affairs, by the Emperor's permission he was retained for a short time rebation -to the local court of justice. here he has given great satisfaction both by the justice of his decisions and his attention to public business. It is therefore proposed to allow him without farther delay to take up the post to which he was originally appointed.—Approved.
