A CORRECTION

may not be out of place here to correct; a misstatement which appeared recently in your columns emanating from Peling that the French Minister had ordered the Sisters of Mercy to cease washing clothes for other nationalities. The real ground we believe for the discontinuance of this convenience was the decease of the Sister who had charge of that department. We all the more readily. make this correction as many of our friends in Shanghai may be commiserating our unwashed condition, 18th March.
