January 13th.—(1) On- the occasion of the Provincial Examinations held at Yiinnan Fu, it has hitherto been the practice to allow a sum of Tls. 7,000 from the funds of the State for the purpose of defraying all expenses incurred, among which is included a supply of food for the candidates in the examination hall. It is now recommended by the governor, us a more economical and satisfactory plan, that the candidates shouud each receive a stim of money from the fund and purchase provisions for themselves, Approved by Rescript.
