(1) Appointing a number of civil officials the metropolitan and provincial administrations.
(2) Lin Chao, Superintendent of Octroi at Changehiak'ou (Kalgan), reports that his year of office has expired and the bringing by him back to Peking of Tls. 2,468 surplus over and above the regulation amount required from octroi duties at that post. He also prays that we permit eduction of the amount of the regulation surplus required from certain duties which the bad state of trade during the year under review prevented him from making, and further asks wht shall be done with the first-named amount—the surplus brought ok by him. With reference to this Dis. 2,468 let Lin Chao deliver it to the Treasury. of the Privy Purse and as for his prayer above let the Board of Revenue report thereon, 15th and 16th March.
