A Wet Spring

The Jatter part of the winter just past and the present spring have been an unusual-wet season. So much rain has fallen that the country in many places is under water, and there is widespread anxiety lest the wheat crop should be seriously injured. It is earnestly hoped that the season will ba a good one as a bad wheat crop following the poor crops of last autumn will entail great suffering on the country people, and as a consequence, the officials say, will greatly increase crime., As a resuit ofthe hea and continued rains the canal, generally very low at this season, is now higher than it has been for many years.
