To the Editor of the Nonrn-Curxa Dany News, —In former times it was understood, that while the evening service at the Cathedral should be of a more ornate character, the morning service should be simple, so that plain folk could join in it. But of late years some one (is it the Chaplain or the organist?) has taken in hand to educate the morning congregation up to the requir-standard. First of all, Saints' Days and Festivals were taken advantage of for these instructions, but lately there has change. Last Sunday, for instance, was neither a Saint's Day nor " Festival, the service was fully choral, and the cholo and the minister confessed their sins and announced their fulth in such " way that phu folk were quite debarred from taking part. Some of us think with regret of the plain, hearty services in the time of Dean Butcher. Was the choral service last Sunday in honour of the new addition to the Cathedral Staff?
