To the Editor of the Nowra-Crma, Dany Naws, Sin,—May I be permitted to direct your attention to that part of your: Hankow respondent's letter, in your issue of 20th which refers to what. ho styles the "summer ecclesiastical tempest."

Your correspondent does not, 1 suppose, excite an. enormous amount of pirblio in: terest by his utterances; nevertheless when ho undertakes to state facts, "he.should, T think firmly control his manifest disposition to be funny and rollicking, rather than run-the risk of being misunderstood.

Personally, I think your correspondent's playful manner would be more acceptable: if ho discovered less glee in what he evidently regards as the discomfiture of the St. John's Church committee; and his letter more worth reading, as now, if he showed a closer acquaintance with the subject he has chosen for the display of his "humour."

service in St. John's Church;-and: that it was undesirable, if not illegal; that' any other than episcopal clergymen should officiate there.

On their election the committee gave effect to these views; and, thanks to' the polians here, the American, mission, the most generous assistance of the only episco-Church of England service was conducted every Stihday, for the benefit of sixty'or severity people, up to the' time" thatthe of cletgymat fiiciating in had to leave for Ja} throt ill-health: The' cotimittes then asked MI.'
