At the meeting, on Thursday, of the Legislative Council, the Director of Public Works moved that' the following proposed works be referred to the Public Works Committee:—i—Police station at Kennedy own; 2—Chair Shelter at Peak Tram works extension, (it is proposed, I believe, to construct a new reservoir near 'T'ytam) The erection of a refuse destructor at Kennedy Town; 6—Electric lighting at Government House (the installation was agreed upon subsequently in Committee and 2 vote taken for the purpose); 7—Minor Roads in the new Territory; 8—Preparing the site for the Governor's Peak Residence; 9—Ké this represents a good deal of work, is only a portion of what is intended.
