TWO MEMORIALS

The Gludstone Memorial Fund, which seemed to languish for atime, has taken a new sput, and at a meeting presided over by the Prince of Wales the Committee were able to announce that £8,000 had been allocated for the purchase of a site and the erection of a monument in London, and £6,000 for a site and monument in Elinsimilar sum will be reserved the tal comes to like a unanimous conclusion in favour of accepting it. And when these and other monuments have been provided there will still bea substantial amount left for the library at Hawarden and other purposes. The Millais Memorial Fund is also yoing on well. A statue by Me. Brock is to be erected at the Tate Gallery and another will probably be placed in St. Paul's Cathedral.
