Socially we have been having a very. good time lately, what with our races, Kushan and Kuliang, and race-ball; two performances of Liberty Hall," tennis tournaments, Gun Club meetings and Madame Freed's concert last night. All this comes as a great contrast to the social flatness of the summer and autumn months, when men are too busy to think of aught but work, and ladies have to pass the time in trying to keep cool.
For the first time for a long time past we have rain to-day, and very welcome it is, as all the walla were running dry.
