Proposed Military Academy for Manchus.
The Empress Dowager, according to. Northern native paper, has sanctioned Tls. 50,000 for preliminaries in the establishment of a modern-styled Military Academy in Poking for the special reception of young Manchus of the Imperial House and the Eight Banners, where it will also be compulsory for sons of Manchus princes and nobles to study. It is stated that the curriculum adopted will be that of the Nobles' School of Tokio, Japan.
