A serious explosion took place a few days ago in the City. Some were experimenting with white powder, and enjoying s good amoke at the axine time. Reuult, one house destroyed, and two men badly mangled. There being no foreign physician in the city a layman was called in, and by the use of a pocket knife and pair of scissors performed some very careful tions by removing bits of cowhide, and clothing that bad been driven into the men by the force of the explosion. One man had eighteen wounds body, besides having his face badly burned and his eyes put out. Nothing short of a _mirxcle will bring this man through.
