Consul-General Dr. Knappe on Saturday introduced the new German Consul at Nanking, Herr von Oertzen, to the Viceroy Liu Kun-yi, and at the same time presented the official Chinese text of the note containing the peace conditions to His Excellency.
Consul-General Warren, who also went to Nanking, was received by. the Viceroy on Mondky, his intention also being to present the Chinese text of the note.
