The Ministers have fixed on August the 14th as the date for full, final, formal evacuation, and for handing over to the Chinese authorities the Temple of Heaven, Temple of Agriculture, Forbidden City, Winter Palace, Summer Palace, and other public and imperial grounds and buildings. This date is the anniversary of the relief of the Legations by the Allies. This idea originated with Sir Ernest Satow.
