The Ti-t'ai (General) of Kueichou has gone to succeed the aged General Fung at Tali and the Chent'ai (Brigadier-General) of Chao-tung has gone to be Ti-t'ai of Kueichou. Governor Ting of Yunnan is to take up the same position in Kuangsi and Treasurer Li, nephew of the aged Peace Commissioner, is to hold pro tem.~the position of Governor of Yunnan. There have been rumours of serious contentions between Li and Ting which may account for these changes.
