The dveree states that whilst in exile Hsian neither His Majesty nor the Empre-s Dowager I have the heart for any rejoicings and festivities and s0 nothing of tie sort will take place on the day in question. The Emperor himself will, however, pry reverential obeisances to the Empress Dowager ('Sacred Mother") in. her apartments early on the morning of the 12th Avgust, to he followed in the same manner by the ces, Dukes, nobles and high Ministers Heian in a private audience hall.
