The extraordinary meeting of the Dock Company, called to consider the scheme for a new dock presented by the majority of the Directors, brought together the largest gathering of the kind that has perhaps met in the Colony. The Chair-ian (Mr. D. E, Brown) opened the proceedings with a rather lengthy speech (which he read) in which he explained the scheme.
