Opinion in London

London, Sept. 21.

The advantages and disadvantages, the justice and injustice of supporting the Six Power Loan Group are the subjects of much discussion in the Press and in financial circles.

The "Spectator" denounces the Radical criticism of Sir Edward Grey on the subject, declaring that Great Britain is the best friend that China has in the Group and that she is better able to help China in the Group than outside it.

The "Economist" takes the opposite view and emphasizes the absurdity of Great Britain supplying the bulk of the money and getting only a sixth of the control. Nobody, it says, regrets the collapse of the combination.

"The Times," which has hitherto shown a tendency to support the Hix Power Group, to-day admits that it is unlikely that the present monopoly, to which much legitimate exception may be taken, can be maintained much longer.—Reuter.
