To the Editor of the "Norra-Cama Day News."
81n,—May I be permitted to crave little space to make public as succinctly as possible a few facts concerning the appeal on behalf of the Royal Naval Canteen at the Hanbury Institute?
1. On behalf of the Committee I wish to express their most sincere thanks for the widespread and generous response to their request; which, though addressed only to such per-vons 4s are registered at the British Consulate, has yet brought in subscriptions from representatives of more than a dozen races, and mises of further aid should that be needed.
2. A few subscribers having sent) donations without giving any address, I have as yet been unable to forward their receipts.
3. There being large additions to the membership of the League, it has become necessary to write home for further copies of "The Navy," and as these come out via Suez some delay must necessarily occur, and the kindly patience of subscribers is requested in consequence. Such schoola as are in regular receipt of complimentary copies will please note that for the time being these must be used otherwise.
4. Donations continue to come in, and, as distinct from these, it is requested that those who wish to enroll themselves as members of the League, and 80 receive their monthly copy of "The Navy," will send in their names and subscriptions as soon as possible so that the new list may be completed without loss of time.
