The Runaway Girl

The audience that nearly filled the thea tre on Wednesday night thoroughly enjoyed the performance if the laughter and applause that accompanied the action through-Sut is any criterion. The comedy itself rests almost entirely upon three people, Guy Stanley (Mr. Percival Knight), Flipper (Mr. Henry Dallas), and Winefred Grey (Miss Nellie! Curtis), who was by some cident omitted from the programme together. She was extremely winning in the part of the runaway heroine; her singing, particularly in her love duet with Guy, was really touching, and her incidental dances very grace ful. She was well supported by Mr. Knight, who is always remarkably easy and natural in such parts as Guy, and by Mr. Dallas whose humour in low comedy roles is simply inexhaustible. Mr. Harold Godwin and Mr. Munro did well what was required of them as Lord Coodle and Brother Tamarind, and the rest of the cast tilled up the picture pleasantly.
