A New Gold Find

An exciting gold discovery has just been reported and has made a sensation in Melbourne and in Adelaide. A runaway sailor made the find 40 years ago on the Limen River in the Northern Territory; a letter 40 years old had bee" pigeon holed wud overlooked till recently, describing the discovery. _An interesting coincidence livs in the fact that fifteen years ago another sailor made a similar discovery on the Roper Ri alittle north of the Limen, which is being exploited by a syndicate of Glasgow capitalists. The Roper is one of the largest rivers in Australia, being over mile in width at the mouth, and over 1,00 feet wide 90 miles up. Steamers of 1,000 tons have no difficulty in going up that distance. The country is rich, abundance of water and feed available for grazing, cotton, tobacco, mails and rubber growing. Drought in this part is unknown.
