Through i's Agency.
Paris, Nov. 9.
The communique issued this afternoon states that the operations have been difficult owing to fog, especi ly between the Lys and the Oise. Our progress in the centre has been maintained. There have been small engagements in the regions of the Argonne and Verdun. There is nothing to report concerning Lor-rame.
The enemy made fresh attacks against. Col-de-Sainte-Marie and suffered a distinct defeat. The east. of Ypres. Everywhere their attacks were repulsed. We made Progress at the end of the day along the entire front from Dixmude to the Lys. Nevertheless our advance is slow owing to the offensive which the enemy is now assuming and to his effective organized defences.
The following telegram was issued yesterday by Renter's Agency by the courtesy of the French Consul-General.
During the 8th the German offend sive between Ypres and Dixmude Was everywhere repulsed. The Allies have made progress between Dixmude and the Lys, north-west of Soissons and east of Vailly. In the Woevre we have captured some trenches in the woods of Apremont. German attacks against the heights of the pass of Sainte Marie have been a complete failure.
