The Mid-American position has undergone no change. The local cotton market is dull, with little or no demand from local mills, and practically no exporta.
The yarn market is very dull-Practically no business is reported in any of the varieties of yarn.
Exchange continues to militate against business in piece goods. At the auctions quantities wore slightly increased, and prices on the whol wore weaker, except for Greys.
BULLION, Messrs. Mocatta & Goldsmid's weekly circular dated London, October 1, states that "the silver market is without any new feature. In spite of @ litre inquiry from India, supplies, though not large, have been more than sufficient to meet mand and the price has consequently fallen to 23}d., which we are quoting to-day. This makes a fall of 4d. per oz. during the week."
