Mr. Imré Kiralfy has selected the work of the fire brigades as the groundwork of his exhibition at Earl's Court this week, and the show was formally opened by the old Duke of Cambridge on Wednesday. The spectacle in the theatre includes' a very realistic representation of a home on fire, with engines dashing up, firemen saving the inmates with the aid of escapes and all the exciting incidents of a con-flag ration; and there is a very, interesting show of fine fire-cstinguishing and fire-reventing appliances of all sorts. The National Fire Brigade Union and the British Fire Prevention Committee are holding conferences and meetings during the show so that it will really serve a useful purpose, as well as afford entertainment to those thousands of Londoners and visitors to London, for whom there will be alfresco concerts, all sorts of side shows (including an Assouan village), and attractions of various kinds when have no very apparent connection with the fighting of the flames. All that is wanted for the success of the exhibition is fine weather. We have not got that yet but we are still hoping.
