Shanghai, 14th April 1905. m directed to acreceipt of your letter of the 24th ultimo, addressed to the Municipal Engineer, in regard to your claim for compensation for the strip of Cadastral lot 502 scheduled for public acquisition in connection with " road to the south of the Railway Station.
In reply thereto I am directed to state that in the absence of any definite information as to the Railway Company's intentions in this neighbourhood the Council is not prepare! to purchase land for this p.rpose at the figure you quote.
