The Railway Conference which is now being held at the Shanghai Office of the Shanghai-Nanking Railway is mainly for the purpose of devising a uniform system with respect to the transport of cargoes on the five lines already mentioned. But as there will be other importtant subjects to be discussed, the Ministry of Communications has been requested to appoint a deputy to preside over the Conference. A telegraphic reached Shanghai to the effect that the Ministry has asked Vice-Minister Yih Kung-cho to attend the Conference.
