Peking, Dec. 29. Chang Tso-un has frequently given, the Chinese nation and the world at large to understand that his chief object in coming to Peking is to reunite China.
This is true and the inspiration behind it was the desire to support China's diplomacy in Washington by giving the impression that order was being involved from chaos and that the nation therefore deserved the respect and sympathy of the Power which may be assumed io be studying China's condition. This the delegates in Washington have described as a "patriotic call'? and from the point of view of a large percentage of Chinese it may legitimately be described as such.
