To the Editor of the '"Norta-Cuina Dairy News."
Sir,—With reference to the obituary notice in your issue of December 31, of a gentleman who was engaged in the drug business, but who, owing to his Christian Science convictions, was not vaccinated until after he had developed small-pox, from which he died, I should be grateful for any light which you, or any of your readers who are of the same religious persuasion' as the unfortunate gentleman, may be willing to throw upon two dark points of ethics.
1.—Is it consistent with the theory and practice of Christian Science to buy and sell materia 2.—Is it less objectionable, from a Christian Science standpoint, to be vaccinated after the particular "error of mortal mind" which that operation is vulgarly supposed to prevent has manifested itself on the physical plane, than it is to be vaccinated prior to such mani-testation while such a measure would, in the opinion of "Pagan Unscientists," be reasonably prophylactic?
Enclosing my card, I am, ete., Sandy River Mart, Manchuria,
