Cor correspondent's plea would be sand. if founded on fact. With regard to his allegation agalest the Shanghai Recreation Clab, we may point out that until Satarday last the Shanghsi Recreation Club's first tesm has been engaged in League football every: Sator-day and it was therefore out of the question that it coold include regular members of the first team in its second eleven. The second eleven bad taken part in two second-division League fixtures, including the game against St. Andrew's last Saturday. and has on each occasion taken the field sbortbanded and been severely defeated.
