Public Recreation Ground

The following letters record the terms upon which an improvement to the drainage of a portion of the Public Recreation Ground is proj Shaoghai, January 26, 1011, Dean Sin,—I have to request that provision be made in the Budget for 1911 for the rob-s"il drainage of that, part of the Pablic Recreation Ground used by the Polo Club. This ground is to low and has to little natural draipsge as to be of no use for purposes of recreation after a heavy fall of rain. Sub-snildrainage would, I believe, remedy this and render the ground capable of vse ona much greater namber of days than is at present the case.

The work can be carried out by the Public Works Department at cost of about Tls. 1,016 and towards this expense the Pulo Clab will contribute Tls. 250 and the Golf Club Tis, 250.
