Since leaving Chenchow the 1. P. 0. has opened a new post office there and ha also sent a man to Kueiyangchou to open a branch office there. There will be one carrier, who will be able to make the trip in one day between the two places. The plan is to open an office in Ichang and thus connect the Hunan lines with the Kuangtung lines, which has been talked of for over a year. The telegraph has been completed to Yuinchon, vid Hengchow.
