The Secunderabad Races

Three days of glorious weather shone upon this year's Race Meeting; the events had been ranged to attract outside owners, and the handicaps gave general satisfaction. The pretty efcloiure and paddocks were thronged with a fashionable crowd, Sir David Barr and Lady Barr and © party, Brigatier-General Sir James Willeneks, the Minister, in fact the whole of Secunderabad' and Hyderabad society appeared to be present. H. H. the Nizam had intimated his intention of witnessing the races, but day after day slipped by, always bringing late in the afternoon, a message of apology from His Highness, who regretted that lis was unable to attend.
