"THE KING'S DAUGHTERS."

'The children's ontortainmont given by g's Daughters" at' Union Church Hall on Tuesday afternoon was splendid success. It was surprising to find a ball s0 crowded for a mating con-cart at this time of the year and in such hot weather, and the performers must have felt amply rewarded for their efforts by the pleasure that they afforded to doth children and adults who were rth ed with a pi programme opened with a pianoforte duet, "The Mikado," by Mrs. Armistead and Miss Jansen, which was admirably rendered and well received. Than followed a song by Miss Petersen—Come Along to the Zoo"—which the youngsters enjoyed heartily, as they did also "The Toy Duet" by Misses Owers; and Law, which followed. A Spanish) dance by Miss Pansy Law was enthusiastically encored, and in response Miss Law danced the Highland Fling in perfect style. Miss Owers sang " Mr. Moon" very swovtly and was encored, and a song by Mrs. Shorrock with banjo accompaniment was also heartily enjoyed, the children joining in the chorus. The appesrauce of Mr. Sutherland on the [platform was the sign for lengthy applause and his imitations of every day occurrences pleased the children so much that they would have liked him to occupy the platform for s fxr lenge. porirl LIB, Railtou's song "The King's (Owis" was well received as wae also. dust by Mrs. Shorrock and Miss Peterson, with banjo accompaniment by Mrs. Shorrock and Mrs. McIutosh. 'The entortainment concluded with a very amusing exhibition of waxworks by' Profossur Jenkins.

The piano used for the entertainment was kindly lent by Messrs, Moutrie and Ca., La.
