The "Sinwénpao" states that it is reported from Ichang that a certain foreigner while out shooting in the vicinity of that city accidentally hit a rustic while engaged in picking cotton in a neighbouring field. The unfortunate countryman was taken to the hospital, but finally succumbed to his wound. It further stated that the Consul of the above-noted foreigner has promised to make the latter pay a certain sum of i the family of the A Dignitary's Loss.
'The coffin of the wife of the Into Grand Secretary Wang Wen-shao was brought down from ghe North by the China Merchants' steamer Hsinyii yesterday en route for burial in deceased's native city of Hangchow.
