The departure from Shim-hoshi, Tokio, took place at 1.50 p.m. 'The down-town of the city was be-flagged and the send-off at the station was probably more splendid, not to say, bigger, than that on the occasion of the de. parture of the Manchurian Headquarte Staff on the 6th of July last year. Upon the arrival at Yokohama, the distinguished company was escorted by a military guard and civic bodies to the Custom House, where they held an informal reception, at which Governor Sufu wa prominent in proffers of hospitality. fleet launches afterwards conveyed the party from the hatoba to the Minnesota, which was prettily dressed. The bands wore numerous and daylight fireworks added eclat to the occasion, At 4.30 p.m. the Minnesota sailed. The guard-ind. torpedo-boat No. 20 and the Takawo fired a salute of 19 gun:
