The International Walking Match

To the Editor of the Norra-Cuina Day News."

Sin,—The system of scoring as advocate ed by your correspondent "An Englishman" and practiced last Sunday, appears to me to be somewhat defectir Assuming that No.3 had not finished, the totals would have been, English $9. French 36. If No. 33 had been absent instead the score would read, English 40, French 40 or tie.

As it tumed out last Sunday the English team, besides its own effort, actually depended on every man No. 16 to 33 in-elusive, for success. Hones my conclusion, in which you will no doubt agree.

Might I suggest through the medium of your widely read columns that the principle of the Relay Race be employed in future. In other words, the team making the minimum time total wins.

In such @ case the results would have been unalterable and thus, French 13 hours 5.25 mins. English 13 hrs. 17.5 min.
